š¯“›oving God, we praise and thank you for the gift of Sacred Relics to the Church. These relics are visible signs of your love to your people for it remind us of our vocation, to be Saints – to be holy as you are holy, and that our body is truly the temple of the Holy Spirit. Men and women of different time, status, and race heeded the call of your Son to love you and their neighbors especially the least, the last and the lost. We humbly come before you to seek for forgiveness because some people committed sacrileges toward your precious gifts, the Sacred Relics.
• Forgive us because some people do forget that sacred relics are remains of your holy servants.
• Forgive us because some people do forget that our body, dead or alive, is sacred for it is sanctified with your divine grace especially through the sacraments.
• Forgive us because some people collect relics and tend to forget that doing such sacrilegious act has deplorable consequences as taught by Holy Mother Church.
• Forgive us because some people use relics for their own benefits, some sell it and others engaged with trade using these sacred gifts.
• Forgive us because some people lied just to have them for their own enjoyment and tend to forget that relics are for the Church, the people of God.
• Forgive us because those private individuals who has relics in our country are divided, they believe so much in their own capacity and knowledge thus neglecting the teachings of the Church. They tend to forget that the presence of relics in their life is a challenge to have good and Christian attitudes. Enlighten them; unite them under the Name of Jesus.
• Forgive us because we do not respect the relics conscientiously. That respecting and cherishing relics express how we respect and cherish human life from conception until death.
• Forgive us because we tend to forget that relics are channels of your graces because these are remains of your holy servants now living in your kingdom.
Send the Holy Spirit to remind us to do what is right and enlighten the minds of those people who desecrate Sacred Relics so that they may return to you with humble and contrite heart.
May all Holy Men and Women, pray for us especially those who desecrate sacred relics. May we always be reminded that Sacred Relics are treasures of our faith, of our Church, that need protection and veneration.
We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
